New App Available

TV Timecard for iOS Now Available
July 2, 2014 - Inaudible Labs is happy to announce the release of TV Timecard, a new app available on the App Store for iOS devices, that finally gives you the power to take back the precious time you spend keeping accurate track of your work hours. Whether you've just been taken notes on paper, with another app or foolishly trusting production to do it for you, there is now a two-tap process that takes care of that for you!! We don't mean set up a job, enter rates, navigate to the right menu and THEN it's a two-tap process. We mean open the app and it's a two-tap process.

On top of managing your times, we also give you a way to quickly view your times for an entire week, where you can then fill out your timecard on set or share it with production as a PDF or text via e-mail, text message or AirDrop. Additionally, with the multi-user in-app purchase you can have as many crew members or departments your heart desires. If you're an AC, help out your DP by keeping track of his times for him. For those looking for a quick and easy way to keep track of when you've work, look no further. For those that have been looking for a clunky and inefficient method, just keep doing what you're doing.

Update Published
iOS v2.2

October 9, 2013 - iOS update v2.2 of Sound Report Writer has been published and is now available in the App Store. The app has been redesigned to fit the iOS 7 look and is much sleeker. The e-mail format has been changed for better message entry and projects will no longer re-appear after deleting and restarting the app.

Update Published
Android v2.9.1

June 16, 2013 - Android update v2.9.1 of Sound Report Writer has been published and is now available in Google Play. We have cleared up several bugs based on user feedback. The most notorious was a bug that caused the app to crash when waking the device from sleep mode. We have also added the ability to backup and import all of your projects to Dropbox as a safety net for any future updates. ***Please note that you will lose existing project data when you upgrade to this version.*** Unfortunately, this was necessary in order to provide the ability to backup everything.

Android Update
v2.9

December 4, 2012 - The Android version of Sound Report Writer is now up to snuff. We've worked out all the bugs and completed the File Naming Formula and Auto-suggest Track Names features. We're still hacking away at the iOS update that includes iPhone 5 compatibility, UK-friendly features, and some stability enhancements.

Update Approved
iOS v2.0.1

June 28, 2012 - iOS update v2.0.1 of Sound Report Writer has been approved and is now available in the app store. This update fixes a bug that previously caused some crashes on startup and caused you to lose past projects due to deleting the app. A few other small things were touched up as well. We are now devoting our time to updating the Android version with the file naming formula feature and the 'auto-suggest track names' feature.

Update Approved
iOS v2.0

June 15, 2012 - iOS update v2.0 of Sound Report Writer has been approved and is now available in the app store. Lots of improvements have been made that I think everyone has been waiting for, including custom filenames for all recorders. We've also made things a little better organized and easily accessible. The system is nearly as automated as possible. To upgrade to v2.0 you must delete the previous version before installing, which means you will lose your past projects. Give it a whirl and let us know what you think. Thanks again to everyone for your support! Keep the suggestions and recommendations coming.

Update Submitted
iOS v2.0

June 8, 2012 - iOS update v2.0 of Sound Report Writer has been submitted for approval and should be available for download in about a week. Surprise! We actually haven't been sleeping this whole time. This update is long overdue and will provide a much more efficient and customized workflow. We've updated the screenshots as well, so grab a preview here, or just go ahead and download the thing now! Updates include the following:

  • Custom file naming formula - create any file name automatically
  • Track naming 'autosuggest' list for each project
  • Easy 'Advance Scene' and 'Advance Take' buttons make going from 10 to 10A a breeze!
  • Navigate takes simply by swiping left or right
  • Timecode: create a new take and then add your start and end timecode stamps
Thanks to everyone for their valuable feedback and patience with this project! Please don't hold back any questions or suggestions. We can now begin on some similar updates and stability improvements for the Android platform.

Updates Approved
iOS v1.5

Apr 5, 2012 - iOS update v1.5 of Sound Report Writer has been approved by Apple and is now available for download. This version fixes a bug found in the PDF generator where the segment would start on the number that was next in line rather than '1' when the report was e-mailed, but not archived or printed. Weird, but we caught it. We're still hacking away at the next update which will add support for storing and loading track names, add Start and End TC options, add 'Advance Scene' and 'Advance Take' and move them to the top of the screen, display a segment number in the take info screen and several other fixes. Timecode jamming is being put on hold until we get these features in place and will then be addressed. It's not easy :-(

Updates Approved
iOS v1.4 & Android 2.2

Feb 22, 2012 - iOS update v1.4 of Sound Report Writer has been approved by Apple and is now available for download. This mainly provides a workaround for some users that got stuck on the 'Project Info' screen. There's a button on the top of that screen that allows you to switch manually if you aren't able to swipe. There is also a fix in the Android version that allows for full orientation rotation.

Updates Approved
iOS v1.3 & Android v2.0

Feb 14, 2012 - iOS update v1.3 of Sound Report Writer has been approved by Apple and is now available for download. The formatting in the PDF has been fixed. Long filenames and scenes will no longer bleed into other fields. You can also turn off any scene columns in the 'Settings' menu. Android v2.0 was also completed and uploaded, which fixes a few bugs that were causing some users to crash upon orientation change. If you're a happy customer, please leave a review and/or rating for us in either app store!

iOS v1.3

Feb 6, 2012 - iOS v1.3 of Sound Report Writer has been submitted for approval. The formatting in the PDF has been fixed. Long filenames and scenes will no longer bleed into other fields. You can also turn off any scene columns in the 'Settings' menu. So if you don't use the 'Filename' in your project, you can just make it disappear! Segment numbers also show up per project and are displayed in the full scene list section. Up next is storing track names and activating the Start TC and End TC. We've had some great suggestions and feedback from our users! If you're a happy customer, please leave a review and/or rating for us in the app store. If you're not a happy customer, then you must not have bought it yet.

iOS v1.2 Approved

Sound Report Writer available in the Android Market
Feb 5, 2012 - Version 1.2 of Sound Report Writer has been approved and is available in the App Store. You can now create a new day of an existing project without entering all the project specs in again. You can also arm/disarm tracks, as well as rearrange them. There is a known bug with the arm/disarm feature where the setting doesn't carry over into the next take. This is already fixed in the next update. We wanted to get the useful features released sooner rather than have our place in line lost. The Android version was also released today.

Jan 30, 2012 - iOS v1.2 of Sound Report Writer has been submitted for approval. Updates in this version include the ability to arm and disarm tracks, rearrange tracks, and create a new project based on an existing project. So if you're on a shoot with multiple days, you can just pick up where you left off with all the dirty work.

Jan 13, 2012 - An update has been submitted to the App Store for Sound Report Writer. This update will allow for several features and a couple minor bug fixes. SRW can now accommodate up to 16 tracks and you can 'Circle' takes from the scene list at a glance to make it more film friendly. We've also slicked up our app icon and logo. More plans are in place for several features, including jamming timecode from an external source, arming and disarming tracks, and loading project data that you've already entered for starting a new day on the same project. Stay tuned!
